I have installed the driver and can connect to QB through the Vb Demo. I can also connect to QB through the configuration portion of my shipping application( I can link to the tables, run queries etc...)

when I go into the shipment processing portion of my app I get the following error

ODBC MapName= QuickBooks
pbiODBCxEngine Error on Function RetrieveMap : Retrieving map QuickBooks attributes Error Opening DSN for string connection = DSN=QuickBooks;UID=admin;PWD=admin; Error = QB Begin Session Failed. Error = 80040408, Could not start QuickBooks. QB Begin Session Failed. Error = 80040408, Could not start QuickBooks.

I can't figure out why it will work in the config side but not the processing side

thank you for any help you can provide

You haven't give much detail about what's different about the configuration and the processing portion of your application, but if the processing option runs through a Windows service the QODBC DCOMs and auto-login (unattended mode) needs to be configured.

See: QODBC and Windows Service and How do I setup QODBC to auto-login into QuickBooks and start it if it's not running? for further information.
