Greetings,

I am doing some querying of the Item.SalesDesc field.  Some of the descriptions have a line break at the end.  This is causing me serious problems.  I am using ASP classic with QODBC v7 and QB Enterprise 2007.

I have done some searching and tried the replace function looking for the following:
\n
\\n
\r
\\r
chr(10)
chr(12)
System.Environment.NewLine
vbcrlf
If I remove the last character, of the field, it works, but that is not the way to do things.  Does anyone have any ideas as to how to find the newline character and remove it?

Thanks,

Andrew

Carriage returns are lost in long descriptions using QOBDC. The normal fix for the problem is to use the VB replace function within the sql statement like this:-

        INSERT INTO Local_ItemInventory ( Part, Description, QuantityOnHand ) " & _
        SELECT Name, replace(PurchaseDesc,chr(10),chr(13) & chr(10)), QuantityOnHand " & _
        FROM ItemInventory " & _
        WHERE IsActive=Yes"
