I wrote a program that works that updates the customfields I created in the inventory File.
Basically it consists of an 'update' statement where the part number is the key.
What is the best setting for the optimizer. Every update statement executed in my program 'reupdates' the optimizer, so it seems, as the driver status counts through all the items on every pass.
The setting now is: "Start of new connection" - as I thought it would execute this once only on startup.
Thanks

If your program open and closes the connection in every update pass, then the QODBC optimizer will update itself in every update pass also. You should just use "The start of every query" default.
