Upgrading QB Version |

I currently have qodbc v5 (QODBC Pro read/write 2005) which I was using with QuickBooks 2004 Pro. We want to convert the company file to QuickBooks 2005 Ent. Will I still be able to use the same QODBC? What steps would I need to take to make sure everything works as it should?
Thank you. |

You have got to be kidding here, "Let's update our four year old version of QuickBooks to a three year old version!". QODBC v5 does not have the optimizer that we introduced in v6 and further enhanced in QODBC v7. True speed increases will be found by upgrading to QuickBooks 2007 and QODBC v7.
As far as your question is concerned, QODBC v5 works with all USA versions of QuickBooks 2005, 2004, 2003 and 2002. When upgrading QuickBooks 2004, backup and copy your company files to another folder first, uninstall QuickBooks 2004 and then do a full install of QuickBooks 2005 Enterprise. Do not uninstall QODBC v5. Simply re-run the QODBC v5 install over the top of what you have installed. |
