This is a known problem with the Canadian 2006 edition of QuickBooks.
The workaround for this is fairly simple -- if you go to your QuickBooks program files directory and COPY qbw32.exe to qbw32<flavor>.exe where <flavor> is the flavor of QuickBooks you have installed:
Pro Premier PremierAccountant PremierContractor etc.
Then your QODBC connection issue should go away...
For example, if you have QB Premier, contractor edition installed, then you would copy QBW32.exe to QBW32PremierContractor.exe in the QuickBooks program files directory.
If the Update QuickBooks option is configured for Automatic Update, then you should already have the following small files placed in the directory where QuickBooks 2006 (Canadian edition) was installed:
qbw32premieraccountant.exe qbw32premiercontractor.exe qbw32premiergeneric.exe qbw32premiernonprofit.exe qbw32premierprofessional.exe qbw32premierretail.exe qbw32premierwholesale.exe qbw32pro.exe qbw32simplestart.exe
If those files have not been automatically installed, the QuickBooks 2006 user can cause them to be downloaded and installed by doing the following:
Open QuickBooks 2006 (Canadian edition)
Choose the menu File > Update Quickbooks…
In the "Update Quickbooks" window, click "Update now" then click on "Get Updates" button. |
