I'm new to using QODBC and have much slower response when accessing QB tables in MS Access versus VB Demo.  They also exhibit different Query behavior.  As an example, when using VB Demo to simply query Purchase Orders (SELECT * FROM PurchaseOrder) runs quickly and returns 532 Purchase Order rows.  The Hour Glass icon in the System Tray quickly changes back to the Q and the Driver Status Panel popup window disappears.  I have succesfully Linked QB tables to a new Access Database.  When running the same query from Access, it takes 2-3 times as long to run and even after the 532 rows are retrieved, the Hour Glass icon in the System Tray stays active and the QODBC Driver Status panel popup window never disappears.  The QODBC Driver Status displays PurchaseOrder; Find Next Record; 1 of 1 and the time just continues to tick away... Is this normal behavior?  If not, any suggestions to improve performance and cure this problem.

Don't use the datasheets in MS Access. The fastest approach is to use pass-through queires like this: How do I create a Pass-Through Report using Microsoft Access 2003?
