| Trying to insert a blank line in a salesreceipt |

I am writing a program to automate entry from a proprietary POS system from my franshise business into QB the sales information to avoid duplicate entry. I have successfully integrated QODBC with another product to have this work from end to end. I am able to create a sales receipt that show the daily sales, sales tax, and methods of payments on a daily basis in an automated fashion.
From an aesthetics standpoint, I would like to have some blank lines in the line item section on the sales receipt to make it more readable as all the numbers run together when looking at it. I have a subtotal for sales which sums all of the sales entries (sales, sales tax, and deposits rec'd). I'd like to have a blank line after the sales subtotal before beginning the payments section.
I've seen a few examples in the forum where an insert with a null description on the invoice table is suggested to work, however, I haven't been able to get this to work on the salesreceiptline table.
INSERT INTO SalesReceiptLine ("TxnDate", "SalesReceiptLineDesc") VALUES ({d'2008-04-05'}, '')
But no blank record is added.
I tried manipulating the SalesReceiptLineSeqNo column, but then I learend that column is not insertable or updateable through an sp_columns salesreceiptline command in the vb demo.
Any ideas? |

The blank sales receipt lines need to be added when creating the SalesReceipt using a SQL Statement like this:
INSERT INTO "SalesReceiptLine" ("SalesReceiptLineDesc", "FQSaveToCache") VALUES ('', 1)
You cannot have any column values whatsoever, other than caching the actual transaction line.
See: How do I create a Sales Receipt using QODBC? for more.

| Thanks. I guess it's required to be cached, and then a subsequent Insert with FQCache set to 0 to actually insert it. That's what I was missing. The insert with the FQ flag set to 0 (actually omitted) does nothing. |
