Our company is using Enterprise 7.0 Manufacturer (USA) version and QODBC. If I copy the company file from the network drive to the local drive, then the auto login feature will work. Otherwise, 80040435 error message shows up.

Is this a network access right issue?

Thanks.

See: How do I setup QODBC to auto-login into QuickBooks and start it if it's not running?

Check that the Locate a company option has the correct full path to where your QuickBooks data file resides on the network. For example: “F:\QuickBooks \MyCompanyfile.qbw”.

If you still can't get it to work, see: After upgrading to QuickBooks 2006, QODBC "auto-login" unattended mode no longer works?

Yes. The path is right because we can use QODBC driver no problem except the "unattended login" feature.

And, the company file is OK because the same file will work under the same procedure/treatment in the C drive just not the X drive.

So I was wondering if it is the Access Rights issue because QB is running in the backgrund. Or this is the Version 8 relese 5 issue and we are on Version 7 release 11?

Thank you very much for your quick reply.

It will be the: After upgrading to QuickBooks 2006, QODBC "auto-login" unattended mode no longer works? issue which applies to QuickBooks 2006, 2007 and 2008 (even sometimes with the R5 update).
