I have been running v6 for some time now with now problems.  I tried upgrading to v7 today and the connection test fails.  I tried the procedure outline for fist connections with no luck.  I removed the access in QB but QODBC doesnt try to connect.  Looking at the log file (below) it seems to be looking for an online edition which is not correct - and yes, the connect to online edition tick box is unselected.  Any sugestions?

We tested upgrading the Australian Editions of QuickBooks Premier 2005/06 and 2006/07 from QODBC v6.00.00.176 to v7.00.00.199 without the problem you report. What QuickBooks version year and edition type are you using? Did you upgrade QuickBooks since installing QODBC v6? Are you using the correct DSN?

When you installed QODBC v7, did you remember to select the "QuickBooks Australia" region? Try reinstalling QODBC over the top of your current installation again.

QB Version is QuickBooks Pro: Professional Business 2006/07
No changes to QB.  All was running fine, did upgrade of QODBC and them have the connection problem.  I'm sure I selected tha Australian region, but just tried a re-install to be sure with no effect.  Yep, checked the DSN and tried the VB Demo again (Quickbooks Data).

I will have some time to fill in at the airport tomorrow so I will un-install and try installing v6 again to make sure that it still works ok then try again.

My problem seems to be getting worse.  I uninstalled v7 and re-installed v6 and then when trying to connect with the VB Demo I get error 80040154 (unknown error).  If I go into the advanced tab in the setup I get an error about not finding a dll - boost_regex-vc80-mt-p-1_33.dll.

I tried uninstalling QODBC and QuickBooks and reinstalling them both (v6) and still get the same error.  Any suggestions?

Have you ever installed the SDK?

boost_regex-vc80-mt-p-1_33.dll is a file from the SDK that's installed by the SDK in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intuit\QuickBooks, and is not installed by QODBC.

Try deleting the files in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intuit\QuickBooks and then reinstall QuickBooks and then QODBC v7. You will need to activate QuickBooks before you can use QODBC.

The SDK isn’t installed, but it may have been at some stage, I am not sure.  I unistalled everything again and deleted the directory you suggested.  I then reinstalled everything and I am back to close to the original error (slight different error number).

I see other posts regarding this error number and they revolve around the Canadian version but mine is the Australian version.  I tried the renaming the exe anyway but it just seems to lose the error number

Any other suggestions you can offer would be appreciated.  Only other thing I can think of is a conflict with something else installed.  I will lose a couple of days work but I think I am getting close to having to format pc and start again.

Try renaming QBXMLRP2.DLL to QBXMLRP2.bad and then reinstalling QODBC.
