I am in the position of having to create custom reports based on the Profit and Loss by class and Balance sheet standard. I need to get at that data and arrange to how our CFO likes to see it all laid out. What I am having a hard time getting is the table names that these two reports use.

QODBC gives us a nice feature in the SP reports which are just like views in SQL however we are stuck using an older version of Crystal reports version 8.5 ( an application we use only works with 8.5 so we are stuck atm) and I cannot use the add command line in crystal reports to pull that data in.

Is this the right place to ask about how I got about determining which tables these reports use so I can link them into crystal reports ??? If not a source perhaps to steer me in the right direction ?

Thank you

Unlike many accounting systems, QuickBooks simply doesn't have a General Ledger Transactions table (often called GLTrans), so to answer which tables are used in P & L by class and Balance Sheet standard, it's every subledger transaction table. Each transaction has the account and class recorded within it. See: Where are the General Ledger Accounts Linked for the selected Items in the Item table? and How do I change the Income Account for a Stock Item that has already has been invoiced? for examples.
