I have QB POS ver 4.0 R8, I have tried to connect via access several times. I saw in the forum one solution of unistalling QB and reloading; I tried this. I have also tried two different computers. I keep getting the same error about needing API 1.1 or 2.0.
Any other things to try?
I believe that this is the solution that I have been looking for.
Thanks,

The QODBC Driver for QuickBooks POS is still in beta and therefore not supported at this stage. The issue has to do with starting the Intuit SDK for POS and our engineers are looking into the situation.
This error appears when any error occurs doing the very first basic call to get the Host table. Doing a Detail Trace log will normally show the real error message when you do a [ Review_Trace Log ]. Go to QODBCPOS Setup Screen, press the "Messages" tab page. Click on the "Detail Tracing (Slow)" check box and let me know what the real error is?
Don't post the trace file, just the lines with the error....... |

I'm assuming I'll get the same response (that the driver is in beta), but I thought I'd post this anyway.
I just upgraded my QBPOS v5.0 to R4 and now the QODBC POS driver errors out everytime. Both the VB and C++ Demos no longer work. Every attempt to connect ends in:
SQL State: S0000
Native: 10041
Message: [QODBCPOS] QB Begin Session Failed. Error = 80000ffff |

Sorry, FLEXquarters.com LLC are not about to release the QODBC Driver for QuickBooks POS. The beta product requires re-linking to the latest libraries used by QuickBooks Point of Sale v5.0. |

QuickBooks Point of Sale v4 shouldn't be a problem. As far as re-linking is concerned, this is something we need to do internally in the product for QuickBooks Point of Sale v5. |
