I have a problem where my QODBC says "Open License Failed" and it is no longer registered and active. It says failed to open license file; when I try to re-activate it and I say ok after putting in the CD key I get a popup that says "Failed to open License File". Whats going on? |

A QODBC "Unable to Open License File" error message on platforms other than Microsoft Windows 64 bit platforms (which are currently not supported) indicates this type of problem:- a) The current login Windows user account doesn't have read/write access to C:\WINDOWS\system32\I9K4UQLW.ocx b) The QODBC license key has been corrupted. The license key is actually hidden in I9K4UQLW.ocx when the registration system was first used and is found in the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder and is a "Hidden file". Please rename it to .bad, reinstall QODBC (don't reboot) and manually reactivate the license. Note: All Windows user accounts (including Windows Services) will require at least read only access to C:\WINDOWS\system32\I9K4UQLW.ocx to use QODBC. |
