| accessing the database without QB running ? |

I cannot get a connection to the database without having QB 2006 pro running. I had hoped that someone could create reports out of Crystal pro and not have to have QB 2006 pro running.
I have the flexquarters driver as given permission under the integrated apps setting in QB. I do have Admin as the select user in that screen perhaps that is the issue ?
Note I can get a test connection just fine to QB pro 2006 in the QODBC setup screen without QB running. The company file resides on a file server and I have browsed to that location in the Setup screen
But when I try VB demo or Crystal reports I get the following error
8004041d This application is not allowed to log into this Quickbooks Company Data File automatically.
It then says I can grant permissions via the Integrated Applications setting in QB but as said I have already done that.
Any ideas ?
