Hello,

I'm attempting to get the QODBC Read/Write Driver (ver 7) working on a server that is running QuickBooks 2007 Server in a windows service mode.   The environment runs in multi-user mode where up to five users on other desktops on the network connect to this server where the QB file is.  The problem is that in this server mode, I cannot open the GUI and allow the QODBC driver access.  I've installed the driver on a desktop on the network, which accesses this, but there have been problems that may be related to network issues which cause some instability and slow-downs for the other users while in QB.   Is there a way to install the QODBC driver on a server which is running this way?  Would the Web Server edition of the driver be necessary?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Dave

To run QODBC on the server, QuickBooks needs to be installed on the server console (local session) just like using a workstation. From there you setup QODBC just like a workstation. You dont require the Server Edition of QODBC to use it on a desktop (even a server's desktop).

See: How does the 30 day evaluation work? How can I evaluate the Desktop Edition? for more.
