Leave QODBC7 driver in place while installing QODBC9? |

Hello - we are about to upgrade to QB Enterprise 9 and with it install the QODBC9 driver (read/write). We already are using QODBC7 read/write with Enterprise 7.
I want to have a 'rollback plan' in the event I encounter issues connecting with Quickbooks or using some existing integration tools after the upgrade to QODBC9.
Can I leave QODBC7 in place by just installing QODBC9 to a separate directory? If not, what is the recommended approach for rolling back after an upgrade? I retain the original install exe and CD Key for QODBC7. Thank you for your help! |

No, the same DLLs are loaded in the Windows\System32 folder regardless of what you say. Also, your QODBC v7 CDKey Code will not work with QuickBooks Enterprise 9.
But you can do this little trick. Before installing QODBC v9, rename: C:\WINDOWS\system32\fqqb32.dll to C:\WINDOWS\system32\fqqb32.v7 and you will still keep a copy of QODBC v7 on your machine. Just copy it back to C:\WINDOWS\system32\fqqb32.dll to roll back. |
