For a couple of years now we have successfully run QB2004 Premier with QODBC for 2004/USA on a Windows 2003 server running IIS with PHP and DCOM configuration. Yesterday I ugpraded QB to 2007 Premier and QODBC to version 7 and attempted to configure it in the same manner. If I attempt to access the QB file with VBdemo it works fine and if I execute portions of my PHP libraries in a PHP shell environment it correctly access the QB data with no problems. I have gone through the steps in this document:
http://www.qodbc.com/QODBCweb.htm (adjusting the filename for fqqbc32.exe to
as well as this document:
http://www.qdeveloper.com.au/forum.php?homeinclude=topicdetails&forum_id=1&category_id=2&post_id=33
We don't use anonymous access to the web application so in addition to the users listed in both of the above I've also included the qodbc_group that I had configured on the previous version with the appropriate permissions.
When I attempt to run testDcom.php I get "garbage" back as follows:
PK(b1Y°q¡;U$TestDCOM.php "ÌX#!†Ä²Ønÿ†Äj`Ù=ºWÄíX]oÛ6}n€üqH,ÃñúÐ8ÎâÖüÛÉ2̃AK×’ZôH*ö3ö¾Ÿ:R’kÚ–]·K‹ ™^DòË{tïáµ¥ÒkôS“nH\@g_Wú6÷g£×åý=e혱@@®N&ÀFò"«²ÿPëT¿të¨1h5Q÷ªÒüPEøز~>©ZVmP‹ Å\ 8 „/}jYõ6Öû{rJ£;GÝ‘ºJÒ—Ê—Z¥Šº.ªU;-taÛ €¨«¸–¬¦|Ĺ4fÎ#’l6%Üõƒ3|‚…‰4¦ñÐßõäÎÏî}GzÑ| |

I had actually read that note after I posted but in this case I'm attempting to use the application as the Administrator user - so we aren't to the point yet of being a rights issue. The DCOM server processes aren't even in the server process list after attempting to use the system. |

As you don't use anonymous access to the web application you will need to setup AUTHENTICATED USERS. |
