We have QODBC enterprise installed on our intranet server working against SQL Server 2005. I have a need to do some testing for a new development project without risking hitting the production Quickbooks file. The driver, the production Quickbooks file and the test Quickbooks file all live on the same machine. Any suggestions for a safe way to alternate pointing the drivers between production and test? I am mostly concerned about speed and transparency for my users, but the primary objective is to remove the risk of hitting the production file with test data.

Any suggestion greatly appreciated...

In QuickBooks you can only have one company file open at one time, and you can specify the company file to use in your QODBC Test DSN (see: How do I setup QODBC to auto-login into QuickBooks and start it if it's not running?  for more), so it's very easy to control your programs to only talk to your test QuickBooks company file.
