I am using the QODBC Driver that comes pre-installed with Quickbooks Enterprise Solutions 7, to see if I can get read mode working (if so, we will likely buy the full version) I would like to use it for accessing Quickbooks data through MySQL calls in ColdFusion and PHP, but I've hit a snag in installation. The driver claims its running, no errors, as well as Quickbooks (Database Server) and Quickbooks Client. However, when I attempt to add the "QODBC N" or "Quickbooks Data" database, in the ColdFusion Admin panel, I get the following error. Connection verification failed for data source: Quickbooks []java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC Socket][QODBC] QB Begin Session Failed. Error = 80040408, Could not start QuickBooks. The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC Socket][QODBC] QB Begin Session Failed. Error = 80040408, Could not start QuickBooks. I've attempted to use the VB Demo to connect, as shown in this tutorial and get the same error message and error code. http://www.qdeveloper.com.au/forum.php?homeinclude=topicdetails&forum_id=1&category_id=1&post_id=110 Quickbooks is running in Multi-user mode, and the flexquarters QODBC is in the "Integrated Applications" tab with access allowed.

To use ColdFusion requires that you purchase a full QODBC Server Edition and set up the QODBC DCOMs. See: Does QODBC work with Coldfusion?
