Is there a way to connect QODBC to the company file without having QB running at the same time? The goal here is to use Server Edition on several Windows 2003 servers and we obviously don't want QB on them all. I am trying to test this using the trial edition on my desktop and can not connect to the company file.
On the QB Server, I've specified Flex Quarters to login automatically with a read-only user. What am I missing here? |

QODBC talks to QuickBooks, and QuickBooks talks to the companyfile.qbw file. So you need to have QuickBooks on the server. The alternative is to use DTS to copy all the QuickBooks data to a MS SQL Server database, which can be used by all your servers etc.
See: Using DTS to Load QuickBooks Data into Microsoft SQL Server for more. |
